MOUNTAIN BIKING: Hamburg Trail

← MO COWMIRE CREEK BRIDGETON MO Single Tracks →

Description

The Hamburg Trail links the Katy Trail to the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area. It is a 6 mile linear trail that makes a great wet weather alternative route and connects directly to the Katy Trail through the Weldon Spring Conservation Area. The Hamburg can be used to link with the Lost Valley hiking and biking trail and the Lewis and Clark hiking trails within the Conservation Area.
The Hamburg Trail originally served heavy machinery transporting quarry rock during the construction of the nuclear waste containment cell - commonly referred to as The Mound. A large parking lot is available at The Mound just off of Highway 94. A museum at the base of The Mound can provide more information on the area.
.

Directions

The trail can be accessed from several small parking lots along Hwy. 94. The most used point is the large lot at the nuclear waste containment facility known locally as "The Mound."
